What Is SureSmile®?
SureSmile® is a clear braces company that is harnessing the latest technology in digital imaging to help you get a smile you’ll love with ease. At Horizons Dental, we use SureSmile®’s technology to get a digital scan of your mouth and plan exactly how to gradually shift your teeth to give you the perfect smile. SureSmile® uses clear aligners rather than traditional braces, so your journey to straight teeth will be subtle as well as effective. Plus, you won’t have to come into the office as often—some of your aligners can be sent directly to your house, though you will have to come in occasionally for progress checks.
How Does SureSmile® Work?
SureSmile® uses cutting-edge digital imaging technology to take a scan of your mouth. No more messy or uncomfortable molds—this scan gives us all the information we need to plan your perfect smile. Once we’ve got a scan, we will create custom clear aligners that will gradually straighten and shift your teeth. You’ll wear these aligners both day and night, taking them out to eat and brush your teeth. At regular intervals, you’ll get new aligners that help continue your journey toward a perfect smile. Dr. Leyder will check in on your progress, and our dental team can make any small adjustments you need.Do I Need Orthodontics?
Not everyone needs orthodontics. Many people who get braces get them as a child or teen, so you may have already had your teeth adjusted. Some people never got braces as a child, however. You also might have developed crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth later in life. Or, your teeth may have shifted back out of alignment, even if you previously had braces. Braces can benefit you if you deal with the following:- Flossing difficulties.
- Open, over, or under bites.
- Gapped teeth.
- Crowded teeth.
- Crooked or twisted teeth.
Benefits of Orthodontics
The primary benefits of orthodontic treatment are pretty clear: straighter teeth and better jaw alignment. A beautiful smile is also a great confidence boost. But did you know that having crooked, crowded, gapped, or otherwise misaligned teeth can have negative health effects beyond low self-esteem? Teeth that are crooked or crowded are difficult to floss, making it more likely that you’ll develop cavities. They can also create areas in the mouth where your toothbrush can’t reach, allowing bacteria to build up and cause decay or infections. Gaps between teeth can allow the teeth to shift, creating further bite problems. Additionally, teeth that are misaligned can rub on each other as you chew or talk, wearing down the enamel and weakening the teeth.
