Why Get Your Teeth Professionally Whitened?
Studies show that whiter teeth can boost your self-confidence and help your self-esteem. Getting your teeth whitened can also make you look younger, and is a great way to show up to a special occasion, like a wedding, in style. It’s possible to whiten your teeth at home, either with over-the-counter kits or with a professional-grade at-home kit. However, many people prefer professional in-office whitening to either of these at-home options. Over-the-counter kits often don’t deliver the results you want. Additionally, applying the whitening gel can be messy, time-consuming, and even painful if you get too much on your gums. Professional teeth whitening at a dentist’s office means a stronger whitening solution and the tools to apply it safely. Professional whitening can give you better results with less time and hassle. At Horizons Dental, we offer in-office professional teeth whitening so that you don’t have to worry about a thing. The Teeth Whitening Process
- Consultation: Before you get started on your tooth whitening journey, you will discuss the results you’re looking for with Dr. Leyder. The dentist will also make a note of the current color of your teeth.
- Preparation: At a whitening appointment, you’ll start by getting your teeth polished to remove any plaque. Then, the dentist or assistant will place gauze around your teeth to keep them dry and protect your gums from exposure to the whitening solution.
- Serum Application: Once your teeth are prepped and protected, we’ll coat your teeth with the whitening solution. This typically needs to sit for thirty to sixty minutes to have the effect you’re looking for.
- Rinse and Repeat: Finally, our team will rinse off your teeth. You may already be at your desired shade, or you can schedule another appointment until you’re happy with how your smile looks.
